May numbers - I'm definitely a runner, no doubt about it.

In may, I ran 100 more miles than in April, which is about 150% of the amount I ran in April!! Not bad, not bad at all! 306 miles is clearly a record.

My goal for June will be to equal May's numbers, but the way the training group is going, it's pretty clear that I'll come up short, as coach doesn't want me rising back up to 80 miles just yet. :(

[My prediction is 270 miles for June, but hey, that puts me well over 1,000 miles for the year!]

If you non-runners (or runners I guess) that read my blog are wondering how long it takes me to run 306 miles, or in other words, how long I spent on my feet running, this following chart is quite interesting and really puts it into perspective:
I ran 43 hours last month. In other words, it's essentially an entire 9-5 work week of nothing but running the streets and trails of Austin. Good times!

That's a whole lotta runnin'!

P.S. Thank you very much to all zero of you who participated in the "Guess how far Mike will run on May" game at the beginning of the month. The turnout, although astounding, was really not surprising, and very much expected! ; )

A bad day of running is better than a good day at work.
