"Suckaaaaa!" That's what Ruth and Ken were probably thinking when they conned Kamran and I into turning off the main trail running with them this morning.
I was planning on running my usual easy 10 today, but somehow we got suckered into 2 extra miles on the extension of the trail under the tunnel off pleasant valley, and we also took the long way around Zilker, so my 10 miles turned into an un-expected 13. My legs definitely felt better than yesterday, so my H20 replenishment is going well from yesterday's mistake. However, it always feels weird in the head to go 13 when you went to bed thinking about a short 10 miler so I definitely suffered from Barn Sour.
They even tried to get me to run an extra two with them to make it 15, but their 3 mile "gateway drug" didn't get me to try the hard stuff... this time. Maybe next time.
I think I'm going to go ahead and go for another 100 mile week starting this Monday as the following week involves quite a bit of work travel, and the Olympics. This will then give me time to go for a third and last one towards the end of the month before we move into speed work in September.
I could have easily gotten to 100 this week had I not screwed up my back, as that would have gotten me the 13 extra miles needed.
Here's my soft plan for next week, it won't be too rough I don't think, and is flexible:
11 - Monday
14 - Tuesday
11 - Wednesday
17 - Thursday
12 - Friday
24 - Saturday
11 - Sunday

You need a rest day, wanker.
I took one on Tuesday, ass clown.
By the way, just grabbed your race report and put them into one PDF and sent it to some friends who bitch about the hills of austin.
