Good article on cnn.com today on how swimming world records now happen about as often as people change their socks. And are about as exciting.
Shoot me an e-mail at jteisher at g mail dot com.
what...no love, when is Garrett swimming??
the future of world record attempts
I'm with Meredith - Phelps is phenomenal and all, but there are some other swimmers that are accomplishing great things, as well. Lezak was brilliant in the 4x100 relay. He swam smart, drafted off of Bernard to conserve energy, and swam the fastest split ever. EVER. Yet, all we hear about is that the relay gold gets Phelps one step closer to breating Spitz's seven golds from 1972. Yes, I'm a fan of any great swimmer. But overexposure is going to kill Phelps...and get on my nerves.
If you ladies (shorey, Mer) provide me the times they're swimming, i'm more than happy to post those too. I came across those on a website, and thought I'd post as NBC Olympics.com is hoorendous.
Next time, i'll make sure i also include the time that Joe Buncake race in trimmsailig too.
Sheesh!
