Unfortunately, my headlamp needs new batteries, which is evidenced by the root I didn't see which sent me flying onto rocky ground. My upper forearm is pretty sore from landing on a rock/branch/root, and one of my hands got a little scuffed up. Kerry also took a tumble, but she only drew a little blood on the hand, so she was quite disappointed.
All in all, a nice little non-flat 4 mile leg stretcher, that is the perfect little tune up for tomorrow's less than friendly 27-28 mile Long Run that inlcudes Enfield, Red Bud, Stratford, Barton Hills Drive, before we hit the Track at mile 20 for 6 miles of nonstop speed work! Bring it on!
The good news is, I think I've figured out my costume for Halloween.
I call this costume:
The clumsy midnight trail runner. What do you think?!?

Note to self: Buy new batteries for the headlamp.

Dand Wiley, you have some hairy limbs :) Be careful, the last thing you want to do it get hurt so close to CIM!!! I'm already in paranoid state...
That's why I'm sticking to the road in the dark for now...I got scrapes like that from tripping over a speed bump!
yeah, sorry. I'll leave the leg shaving to women.
Hey!! Not the knees! Not the knees!! Have fun carefully for the next few weeks!!!
ps. if you shave your legs it is easier to scrub the gravel out of your cuts if you must insist on trail rash...
