T - 18 hours : Saturday

I drove the course this morning again with Larry, Jason, and Kamran;
Tausha and Nedra in the car behind us.
I'm feeling much better now about the course after a second drive.
It's got it's share of hills. think enfield, the lower half of
exposition and pecos, but each up, is followed by a looking down.
It was 38 degrees at 7:25 at the start line and major fog. We expect
this weather to continue. At the finishline it was 44 at 9am with fog.
We then went for a 30 min run around the finishline and out the last
couple miles and back. 44 was nice for a shortsleeve and gloves.
I'll eventually strip down to that from a long sleeve and also a pair
of white socks I've turned into arm warmers! Hah!

We then met with the South team for an hour long race course review
and strategy talk by coach Sisson and I walked out of there with my
hairs raised. I was getting shivers while sitting there, excited from
the excitement oozing out of his speech/race plan for us. I'm so
ready for this to get started.
It's so interesting because our race plan is pretty much unlike
anything you've ever heard. We're going to release the dogs at mile
19-20ish! We are you going to eat up the competition. In the last
miles. Not like we're in the position to win but you know what I
mean. I'm Soooo pumped to be part of a group where we are so trained
so ready that we're contemplating where we "go", where we "attack",
and NOT who do I pray to so I can hang on till the end. It will still
be all hell on earth.. 26.2 is faaaaaar to run, we're going to suffer
like everyone else, but we're more than ready.
Then went to lunch for a non-fast food burger with a big ol' pile of
mash potatoes and then laid out my race gear for tomorrow.
After an hour nap, an being woken up from Ken's text message askig if
he can come over and play, (thanks ken!) I'm awake and feeling
relaxed. I'm glad he called. I didn't need a longer nap.
Dinner? Larry Damon and I got a pasta with Marinara and grilled
chicken breast to go from the lunch place. We have kitchenettes so no
need to fight the crowds tonight!
