Oink Oink?

Why is it that when crazy things like the Swine Flu breakout across the world, I get a cold. 

My ears are clogged, my nose is clogged, my throat is sore, and my head hurts to the point that I think my eyes are going to pop out and go hide in a closet. 

All this makes me think, I wonder if i should go to the doctor, or just wait it out.  Surely this isn't the flu everyone's deathly scared of.
