Don't kid yourselves... it's not THAT hot out.

Being the person you know(or maybe don't know) that enjoys weather more than anyone else you know (or don't know)... I just enjoyed myself profoundly on wunderground, specifically here.

Not only do I love tracking hazardous weather on TV or Website radars, but analyzing (staring at) historical data fascinates me.

Without further ado, here's my most recent "lazy Sunday afternoon" historical analysis:

This year in Austin we've hit a high of over 100F(37.7c) 26 times already. However crazy this sounds as we're not even half way through July, I couldn't help but be disappointed in the fact that we reached 26 with really pathetic streaks... 6days, 10 days, 4days and 6days. Here's to hoping we can pull together an impressive string we can write home about. I mean, if it’s going to be blazing ridiculous hot out, lets at least make it memorable!

So, not only did that disappoint me, everyone’s been saying: “Last year it wasn’t this hot this early in the summer, blah blah blah”, so I went digging, and guess what?, last year was worse than this year up until this week, so let’s quit lying to ourselves.

Check it:
May 2008 – 2
May 2009 – 2

June 2008 – 20
June 2009 – 16

July 2008 – 16
July 2009 – 10

Aug 2008 – 11
Aug 2009 – ?!!!

Sep 2008 – 1
Sep 2009 - ?!!!

Total 2008 – 50! (25 as of July 12, 2008)
Total 2009 – 26 as of July 12, 2009

Here’s something encouraging… we’re currently enjoying a 6-day continuous streak over 100. Let’s all band together and cheer on mothernature so we can crank out at least 25 to 30 in a row, or at minimum, beat last year’s 50 total days over 100! We're 1 ahead of last year, so there's definitely hope!

Enough HOT talk... I’ll cool you off with my last remark... think back to 2007. Remember that great and rainy summer. We only had 3 days over 100 degrees and those were in 3 in a row in mid-August. We even hit a high of only 77 on July 20, 2007, with a low of 73 degrees at 4:51pm when it rained 0.97 inches at the airport. Ahhhhhhh... I can feel the cool breeze in my face just thinking about it!

Now back to HOT wishes for mother nature! I'm hoping for a strong 65 ONE HUNDREDS!!!!

Ok, I think it's super thin crust pizza attempt time.

I don't mind the temperature, it's just the humidity & heat index that is making me crazy. I'm basically a hermit daily from 11am-7pm, avoiding anything more strenuous than walking from one air conditioned place (car, building, etc) to another. Me no likey.

Heard on the radio today that we've now had the hottest 30 day streak ever recorded (I'd assume that's by adding each days high temp together?). It is pretty freakin' hot, not matter how you slice it.
