Even though there are a few protesters that refuse to acknowledge the road closures, it's always nice that the City of Austin closes a few roads so I can run down the middle of them.
Today was one of those two days, and 5 of us ran 8 miles.
The Austin Triathlon asked me if they could take advantage of the road closures I had arranged, and, as I'm a nice guy, I allowed them to put on a race. My only rule was that my friend Paul T had to be able to finish at worst in the top 10 overall, and they could only invite 2,000 participants. They reluctantly obliged, so Paul joined the race, and Meredith, Cindy, Muz and I enjoyed watching Paul (mer's husband) race towards a 5th overall finish.
A fun morning, followed by peach, brie blog, and bread buying at Whole Foods.

What a strange coincidence. They did that for me last year...
