who snagged them from elsewhere.
Funny how Rachel quotes people that say that it smelled like crap out
there and I've seen photos of people playing in the mud.

I've written before how sad I was that ACL stole the park from soccer
players banning them "temporarily" because they would tear up the
field. Think we'll ever see a soccer league on there after this? Not
a chance.
I also joked how barefoot runners should hurry up and get their fix
out of the way before the music fest since afterwards it would be
dangerous to run barefoot with potentially small foot cutting things
in the grass. Well, I guess there won't be much running either since
I read that the park has been shut down at least through Oct 16. http://www.austin360.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/music/entries/2009/10/04/zilkers_great_lawn_to_be_close.html
Hahahha. Oct 16 is a silly date since they're not allowing any heavy
equipment to drive on field to remove heavy parts of stages until the
park has dried out.
My guess is the stages and crap will still be out there through
October and the park will be closed at least till Jan 1, if not March
15th since my friend "el niño" will be visiting this winter!
HOORAY ACL!!!
; )

I find it incredibly odd that the largest open field in all of Austin, in a public park no less, is seldom available for public use. I wish we could check off the various things we wish to support with our tax dollars. Since I've seldom been able to set foot on that grass, I would not choose that.
(my word verification, believe it or not, is "unwet")
If you wanna play soccer, move to Brazil. We play real sports here in America!
Oh yeah!!
Real grass sports like Baseball!! The great American "passtime"!
If other sports were played on ACL PARK, I would have defended those.
Ultimate frisbee and rugby are played there as well! And wasn't there a cricket league before those guys moved to WCP?
The real victims, of course, are the barefoot runners.
Rugby is played across the street as is ultimate if it takes place at ACL Park.
Soccer, radio controlled airplanes and poopie dogs are what's up.
