We ran 14.5 miles today. Didn't start feeling good until mile 8 so I wish we could have run at least 20. Pace was about 7:30 from the very start for me and then we held that most of the way until the last 3-4 miles where we gradually picked it up to a low sevens. Mile 13 felt fantastic at 7:06 pace, nothing felt forced. The quad-at-knee felt fine except on the downhills, but that's nothing new. All systems are good to GO!

Yesterday, I went and got yet another opinion from a different Physical Therapist doctor, Ashley DeBoise. (A peer of Dr. Miller, my regular PT) She was absolutely excellent in her diagnosis and the 15 minutes of work she did on my Meniscus, Medial Patellar Retinaculum and other areas really seems to have made a difference.
After Ashley was done, Dr. Miller took over and abused my quad as he usually does as I grimaced away in pain. (a good pain). Fun times!
My schedule for the final week is pretty booked:
* Monday 5:15pm - Quad at Knee therapy
* Tuesday - lunch with Meredith, friend and nutritionist to catch up on life and discuss nutrition, salt and hydration strategy.
* Wednesday lunch time - Pre race leg massage by Magical Lisa.
* Wednesday 5pm'ish - Final chat/meeting with coach
* Thursday 5:15 pm - Quad at Knee therapy.
* Friday - Pack and prep
* Saturday AM - Departure.

Been watching you prep, and balance the training with the knee. Any wagers with that wanker from the Springs?
Thanks, I hope it holds up to well under a sub 3. If all cylinders are firing, I'll be down in the 2:57's and we will see what he can do to match or exceed it.
I assume we will have a wager on it. Maybe a pitcher of beer at a post race bar unless that wanker runs off to hang out with a bunch of hashers right away.
But I'll take the free pitcher at the grand canyon in early May if that's the case!
I did lose total mileage last yer to him abs will probably lose that again as I've lost 400 miles due to this knee. Oh well, it us what it is. I'll pay up. Gladly pay a lost wager as I'm just thrilled to be able to run again.
We r in the same corral so it wouldn't surprise me if he tries to stick on to my ass.
Careful with that ... http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=11973358&id=900915234
