I've had a lime tree for about 5 years now.
This winter, on Jan 10th weekend, I was out of town for a 100km trail race and forgot about Linda the Lime tree. The temps dipped to 14 degrees farenheit (-10c) and Linda didn't fair so well and pretty much died out completely. I almost gave up on her but something told me to just let her sit till spring time and give her a chance.
Well, low and behold, little green stems starting sprouting from the base of the main "trunk", so I cut down ALL the dead stuff about two weeks ago and just left two main trunks as a reminder of what was.
Now look at what the Linda is doing!!

Goes to show that no plant is dead if you just give it a chance and some time to come back!

Isn't that plant the perfect representation of what can happen during a race...just when things get bad, they sure can look better :)
Go Lime tree!!!
