Seems like today was see a snake day. The snake above is the snake a friend of mine spotted in the trees by his office building this morning. I'm no snake expert, but that to me looks like a Boa or a Python of some sort. I do know one thing.... I don't have to be a snake expert to know that I'd hate to run into that thing!
My friend Dionn invited me to come experience a new trail that has been built in Riverplace called Panther Hollow Trail. It's 3 miles down, then 3 miles up, so a good workout. My knee was a little unhappy on the "down" leg, but coming back up was fine. I have a feeling it'll be unhappy with me later this afternoon.
During our way down, a 3foot(maybe a bit longer?) snake crossed our little path and sent us both jumping high high over it! After a little research on the web, it looks like it was a Texas Patchnose Snake like this one:
Apparently it's not venomous and eats lizards, other snakes and rodents. They are active during the daytime. Regardless if it's friendly or not, i hate snakes, and didn't enjoy jumping over it, as it slithered across our path.
