Sweet Sixteen

Yesterday marked 16 weeks of ITB issues on my left leg.

Doctor Laurie and I have a plan to fix me. It continues to involve a good amount of daily work on my own, and two visits with her a week. Most of the work focuses on my lower back, and hamstrings, with very little emphasis on the left ITB itself.

This probably makes no sense to you, but it does to me.

Enjoy your friday, run a mile for me, and send me good luck vibes. I'm ready to be done with this.

I am telling you week 17 is the magic number then build from zero with 5%. You are on your way. Shoot for 3m or something in about 3 months.

We need to do lunch.

Hang in there, you are on our daily good thoughts list.

Thanks Niccole!
I hope you're right.

I already kind of have plans for the spring(assuming i get healthy in time to train appropriately), but im keeping those in my head to not jinx recovery. However, they absolutely positively do not involve 3M. 1/2 marathon violence is not in the cards for me anytime soon. Yuck phooey! Hahahah! ; )

I know it aint easy man. It took me a while to get back from ACL tear as well. I know the pain and the mind muck that you are going through. Just think about it like an ultra. You will get there eventually if u keep going. It makes good sense to work on the other areas not the ITband if the itband is tight due to the other areas pulling it. So you must be on good hands. Good luck man and keep us posted.

i'd be interested to know what you are specifically doing to strengthen your hip flexors, hip abductors, and gluts...in concert w/ the quads & hammies?

makes sense. the symptom of the problem is never the root of the problem. hope you get better soon!
