Z app os dot com has no space between the z and the app and the os, but since they're not paying me I won't give them search engine credit. Henceforth they shall be known as Z. Same goes for Nor dst roms which we will call N.
I recently have found myself needing 2 new pairs of shoes so I decided to go to the mall yesterday afternoon. A friend whom we will call ASA was headed that way too and since we had a personal exchange of goods to make so as well, we decided to meet at the mall to make the trade.
Upon arrival, ASA had time to spare and volunteered to join me on my search. Walked in through D illa rds but didn't see any shoes I liked. ASA suggested N being known for their shoes so off we went after we took care of her errand at a store that I believe women could spend 2 hours in! Fascinating store!
Now, I guess I should tell you, I hate the mall. I hate everything about it. I dislike shopping for clothes shoes, etc., so I only go a couple times a year and get in then out in "fast" mode. (I much prefer 1 yearly trip to the outlet malls if possible)
So the salesdude at N was given instructions... "I hate my black dress shoes. They are not comfortable at all."
The guy immediately takes me to a pretty good looking pair. I was impressed that he so quickly found my style because I was the guy in new balance trail running shoes (oh so comfortable MT100's!) jeans and a fleece-like sweatshirt. Anyway... of course I liked them... But the sticker shock on the sole almost made them have to call the paramedics! $424. Who the hell spends four hundred and twenty four united states dollars on a pair of shoes. Bring that person to me so I can slap some sense into them.
That was andrew's fatal mistake as he lost me as a customer. So after I kindly told him I wasn't looking to spend a mortgage payment on a pair of shoes, we ventured over to a different pair. I have a brown pair of that brand shoes and they are comfy. Love my Echos! (yes spelling mistake is on purpose)
So as Andrew ventures off into the shoe cave, ASA suggests Z dot com before we buy something here. I loved the shoe, but played an Oscar Worthy performance of not happy with the fit, the look and generally no longer in the mood to buy shoes today. I walked away from the $220 price tag (+ tax = $238)
While heading to a different shoe store, I pulled out my iPhone, went to Z dot com and found the same shoe for $180, free shipping, no tax. No brainer as Z has great customer service, shipping is free and usually lightning fast! Not to mention $60 ($78 with tax) in savings!
Almost forgot to mention ASA suggested another shoe store after we bought one other non-shoe item, and I found another pair of shoe (casual) that I liked. I asked for 9.5 but they only had 8.5 left. Bummer! But I tried them on, and lo and behold, they fit perfectly!! Oh, and wouldn't you know it, they were on sale for $59.99!
So had Andrew at N, asked for price range instead of the $424 scam attempt, he would have probably won my business for $220, but instead I got that pair for $180 then the other pair I was seeking for $60 for that same N $220 price tag.
Final score:
N: 0
Z: 1
Mike: 2
ASA: Huge karma points!!
