5 miles

I got real busy with life attending Austin's biggest music festival last week(www.sxsw.com), so I didn't run at all. I'll write more about all the music i saw sometimes soon.

On Wednesday I ran about 60 minutes with Ciny on the trails.  I had no IT Band issues at all.

Friday, I ran 60 minutes on other trails with Cindy and Muz, and had next to no IT Band issues.  There was a tiny hint of it at the very end, but from 1-10, i'd call it a 1.5 in the pain scale.

Saturday (this morning), I decided to join my old running group that's training for Boston.  Their last hard workout was today which was multiple 5 mile loops.  I hopped in with Mark (TBB) for his last loop.  He wanted 8 min/miles so I figured that would be a nice test to see where the fitness lies.  Happy to report that we averaged about 7:25's for the 5 miles and I had no ITBand issues.  However, those were the hardest 5 miles I've run in a very long time. (since the Boston Marathon last April, i think!)
I used to run 20+ miles at that pace without any effort whatsoever every weekend, but today it was a real struggle to get through it.  Crazy how much fitness has disappeared.

It's now 3 hours later, and my IT Band is quite unhappy. Ok, I'm off to some food club thing I've been roped into.

You have some of the best head pix.

That fitness (marathon) would come back in three months. Easy.

Hope the ITB is feeling better.
