Lollapalooza released their lineup. If this is any indication of what ACL Fest might get, I'm REALLY pumped as I lucked out on getting two three-day passes for $50 a piece a couple months ago when they released a really small amount!

WHAT A FRIDAY!!!!! THE BEST ONE EVER???
Ok, this is clearly the best friday I can remember in a VERY VERY long time!!
First I got to run in the Rain! The run started in hot 80degree weather for 2 miles, and then we got hit with the cool air, and then the sprinkles and then hard rain and hard wind that almost picked me up and sent flying to a neighboring town. It was the best 20 mile run I've had in a very long time. Dan joined for 11 miles and Ken was in for the whole adventure. WOW! What a great day!!
Then, I got home and a friend had contacted me with an extra ticket to the U2 concert in Dallas on Monday night!!! Face Value Floor access ticket for $70! Are you kidding me? If I want to go? HELL YEAH!!! A call to a dear friend and she kindly accepted to take care of Karma, the boss approved the late notice departure, and BOOM!... I'm in!!
And THEN, I had read in an email from ACL Fest that they were going to release a very limit quantity of $50 3day tickets for next year's festival, so I bookmarked the page where they would sell. I just so happened to click on it randomly this morning, and it said : BUY NOW!!! and so I did!!! and guess what?!?! I got lucky and was able to buy two of them for $100! Regular price is up to $185 each!!! SCORE!!!
Pinch me, please! Not sure this is real!
Here's some footage of U2 a couple of months ago!!
Look at this!!!
and this!!!
and finally... not as good a quality, but one of my top 3 favorite songs from any band ever!!!!

ACL Fest 2009 lineup
Just saw the lineup for the ACL Festival this year in early October.
Many good bands, big acts etc.
There's the obvious Pearl Jam, Toadies, Kings of Leon (does KOL have a 5 year contract with ACL or something???).
Then I spotted some other acts that would be great to check out:
- Airborne Toxic Event
- Andrew Bird
- Eek-a-mouse
- Coheed and Cambria
- The Decemberists
- Lilly Allen
- Henry Clay People
Then again, not sure why I'm even talking about this, since: a) I won't be in town that weekend, and b) They'll overlap half those bands making it impossible to catch them all, and c) I can't last 3 days, so I wouldn't see them all anyway.
Wow, this sounds so negative, but it wasn't supposed to! It's actually pretty exciting that I'm a bit sad i can't go.
Then again, I'm glad I can't since I can nap just as well on my couch as I can to the *Insert BIG SNORE here.* Dave Mathews Band.

ACL Lineup Announced - Early thoughts...
The Austin City Limits music festival lineup was announced today.
At first glance, it looked like an average lineup, but then as I kept returning to the list and carefully dissecting it, and I'm actually quite excited about it.
Still have to wait till each day's lineup is announced to see if I need a 3 day, or just a couple of single day passes.
Here's what sticks out for me:
-Beck (Always wanted to see him!)
-Vampire weekend (Should be good, seen them twice and didn't dissapoint)
-Silversun pickups
-Manu Chao (great relaxed latin summer sounds!)
-Yeasayer (they were very good at SXSW)
-The Black Keys (they were one of my favorites at SXSW)
-Against Me! (A little hard, but I run to a few of their songs)
-AA Bondy (acoustic guitar, one man show. Mellow, but great stage presence)
-the Kills (need to study them more)
-Band of Horses (need to study them more)
-MGMT (need to study them more)
and yes, Foo Fighters, AND Raconteurs may be of interest too(but i've already seen the Raconteurs). (Foo Fighters will be sooo crowded.)
Two of the possibly lesser known bands I listed are great!:
Manu Chao (I love this song!)
Yeasayer (These guys were great when I saw them at SXSW last month. Plenty of new sounds. Very forward thinking Indie style.)
and The Black Keys. (for two guys, drums and guitar, these guys put out so much energy it was awesome!)
