New year, new hobby, new hopes
I bought Marla some good planting soil last year, but didn't get around to building her a garden until this December. Marla is deep in triathlon training so I'm helping out to do some planting.
So far the seeds are working well and we're getting quite good growth. The tomatoes were slow to come up, so I bought some inexpensive tomato plants last week. They were only $1.99 a piece, so i bought 4 tomatoes, a yellow pepper, a red pepper and a cilantro plant.
Disaster struck this Thursday night. An overnight freeze appeared in Texas. I coveredall the seedlings, but the new tomato plants and one of the bell peppers seem to have been victims of the cold. Bummer. I guess I'll have to buy some new ones.
In addition, several of the green peas are also looking a little hurt, so It'll be interesting if they survive.
At this time, we've got, Corn, Carrots, sweet and regular Basil, Red and Yellow Bell Peppers, Tomatoes, Lettuce, Spinach, Green Beans, Peas and Cilantro growing.
More pictures to come.
