Paradise Found
Call off the search teams, paradise has been found.
We arrived on Lanai on Wednesday afternoon after a long flight from Dallas to Honolulu (8hrs 20min) and then caught a quick 25 minute ride with an Island Hopper over to Lanai. Wednesday night was a dinner that was a bit blown out due to high winds that turned it into quite a chilly experience, but the food was great! Lots of sashimi, seafood, and other good stuff.
We found out that the first tee time was at 7:10am, and that the sunrise was at 6:17am, so we decided to get a nice workout by running the golf course. We were out the door a few minutes before 6am, and were on our way.
The course is very hilly, and running the cart path is even hillier. Quite a challenge on an empty stomach but it worked out just great! 1hour and 10 mins later, our Garmin(distance measuring watch) said exaclty 8 miles when we arrived back at the Hotel lobby.
Remember, it's not all downhill!!
This afternoon, Marla decided against theOcean Rafting experience due to high seas nausea concerns, but I still went. Marla went on a 5mile hiking with Lisa and Mike and had nothing but great things to say about it. During my rafting experience, we saw spinner dolphins swim by our boat, and snorkeled some. The Humuhumunukunukuapua’a was one of the fish I saw.
Marla said her hike was great and that she saw some pretty spectacular stuff. The hike started at a different hotel up in the rainforest, and they then trecked down to our ocean front abode.
We met up for lunch, then headed down to the beach for a quick nap/layout.
At night we attended a luau, with all types of dancers including this guy. I coud do that.
