I just re-read a newspaper clipping I have on my cube wall about Jack, and noticed the farm is called the "Weaver Farm". A quick Google search, and I found a nice story on what has happened, what will happen, and where Jack is.
Oh and I goofed earlier, Jack's name isn't Charlotte either. It's either Ruby, Daisy or Sunshine depending on who was out when I (or you) drove by! (Charlotte was the nice lady that owned the farm that passed away at age 93 earlier this year.)
Here are some excerpts... but do visit the full article, give the newspaper some credit!
"...three donkeys — Sunshine, Daisy and Ruby — lazily picking and choosing among clumps of grass in the small field left undisturbed by retail America."
"(Charlotte) and her husband, Dr. John Weaver (he died last July), moved here from Indiana in 1938 and settled on the 280-acre farm in 1945."
"Starting in the 1980s the Weaver family began selling off portions of the farm, and the land sprouted big box stores, smaller retail establishments and restaurants."
Finally, a story on this planet that ends on a good note!!...
"...175,000 square feet of shops and restaurants (are) coming. The farmhouse and barn, however, won't disappear; instead, developers hope to renovate them for other uses."
and the best news of all, as I imagined...
"...the donkeys (are) gone, sent to pastures less disturbed by progress."

I bet they put a Pottery Barn in the barn.
Interesting site. Useful information. Bookmarked.
