- 35 miles on roads average 8:37 pace
- 14 miles on roads average 7:45 pace
- 40 miles Zion trail run
- 10 miles easy on trails
- 27 miles on roads average 8:04 pace (marathon distance time was 3:32:04 at very mellow pace)
This weekend I will probably head out for at least another 20 miler on roads then 2 hours on the trails on Sunday morning before eating my weight in BBQ meats at the sold-out Texas BBQ Festival.
Next weekend is probably another 20 or so, then the following week is the San Antonio marathon where I am an official pacer for the (quite slow for me ) 3:45 time goal.
During the week, I've been much more consistent in going to the Tuesday and Thursday group workouts I used to go to, but I'm not really concerned about running a specific hard pace, as I have no need to build back to my fast paces I used to run, and then doing trail runs on other days with Karma and sometimes Cindy and her superdog Domingo.
Last week I hit 60 miles in 5 days, this week will be 50+ in 4 days.
So all in all, better consistency, but still no concrete plans on my future beyond pacing San Antonio.
Ideas I toss around for end of 2011 and 2012 include:
Wild Hare trail run, El Sendero 50K in early december, Bandera 50K on Jan 7, Colorado Springs Fat Ass run January 14, Rocky Raccoon 50 mile in February, Pacing someone at Austin Marathon in February, Rogue Trail Series late spring, Captain Karl's 60k night trail series Summer, a couple of Northern California trail 50K races, Moab 50mile in October. And I think JT and I are planning some type of return to Utah for the spring.. Arches, Bryce Canyon, other parts of Zion, we're not sure. Then again, that's a lot of racing and I don't like wearing a number on my body and paying to run (unless it's a fun destination race).
