Weather - My Addiction

I love weather.
I am a huge dork when it comes to weather.
I can literally sit infront of my TV for hours, if not all day watching weather updates when things are going on.

I always set my alarm in the morning to end in an 8. Why? News8austin has weather on the 8's, and the very first thing I do when I wake up, is turn on the tv, and see what the weather will be in the morning. No joke. I have a folder in my bookmarks that is full of weather related websites.

These last few days have been spectacular. I can't stop. Yesterday, I watched live streaming local news at work, so I could see what was going down.
When there are hurricanes in the Atlantic, I watch the news and read path forecasts on the web. No, I don't go to the extreme of buying the plotting maps to plot my own hurricane paths. But maybe some day I will.

Take today. It's 4:20am. I've been awake since 3:13am. I woke up, then yep, you guessed it, the neighbors windchime kept me awake. That lead to me thinking about the dude in Switzerland I need to talk to later this morning, but I'll be stuck at home, and was thinking of how I'm going to get a colleague on a call with a guy in Switzerland. I'm going to have to take it on my cell phone. Ugh.
Anyway, that lead me to think weather, so I turned on the TV.
The boys on KXAN are live on TV, and so now it's 4:23am and I'm still watching the weather.

Wow. This rain, just will not stop coming our way, and they're now saying we may be stuck in our homes without being able to get to work until Thursday. My international and non-local readers are undoubtedly thinking... why would rain stop you? ICE! It's icing over all the roads. Everything will be iced over.
I have enough food and water to last me till then, but what will I do if I lose power like the thousands in Oklahoma. They just said it's the single worst Ice Storm in HISTORY in Oklahoma. Wow.

(A friend had a Polar Ice Caps 07 party at his apartment yesterday. I couldn't make it, he lives at the highest point in Austin, so I wouldn't be able to get home if it iced over last night, so I stayed home and watched the weather instead.)

Oh yeah, Wednesday 6pm we have potential for up to 1 inch of snow, and just south of San Angelo they say there may be up to 5 inches of snow!
