I was just catching up on the world events during my lunch break and noticed that CNN just posted the list of best SMALL CITIES in America.
Surprisingly, Round Rock, Texas comes in at #7. Yes, SEVENTH. I really have to consider spending more time up there by the Giant "La Frontera" Strip Mall, the Outlet malls, etc. I have some friends that live in some nice neighborhoods by a golf course up there, but if that's the 7th best small town in America, I think we're in trouble.
Even more surprisingly was the fact that Norman, OK, was ranked 6th. Yes, SIXTH. A friend does quite a bit of business in Norman, and he's told me more than once that it's pretty much an armpit.
Just based on those two top 10 listings, and this quote* inside Norman's description: "When the OU Sooners play football against longtime rival, the University of Texas, Norman schools are almost always closed on Friday (you read that right) and the town packs the stadium.", that list has lost all credibility.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not dogging Round Rock, but come on... SEVENTH best small town in AMERICA?!?!?!? WOW.
Here's the full list
* Anyone who knows anything about BIG XII football knows that this particular game is played in Dallas, TX every year.

Huh. I had no idea Fort Collins was a small town.
I guess the worst drivers in Texas (or was it the US) stop driving badly at the Williamson Co border!
