Nobel Prize in Physics is up for grabs!

If someone can solve the mystery of how socks lose their sibling, I think they will be a shoe in (no pun intended) for the Nobel Prize in Physics because this is a scientific problem plaguing everyone.

My (running) sock drawer is slowly becoming a grave yard for single socks that have lost their brother/sister. Today I just took all my running clothes out of the dryer and except for the (matching) pair I wore this morning, all socks are now clean. I count 12 complete pairs, and 9 solo/orphan/single/sad ones.

NINE!

Would it be ridiculous if I just give up on matching them up and just wear any two that are similar in length??

I think matched pairs are highly overrated. Besides, we're usually running in the dark anyway, so who's going to know they don't match? Oh, until the sun comes up.

Have you checked your car? Don't you change clothes after your runs? I'd bet you're dropping them somewhere.

Maybe we could get all of our teammates to bring their singles and we can have a huge single sock, "let's see how many we can match" party??

That's hilarious, I have the same dilemma every time I do laundry...
