a 10K is 6.2 miles. We ran 6 Mile repeats at 10K pace.
Coach Sisson said you generally don't run 6 repeats, keeping it to 4 or so, as you never schedule a distance of a workout based on the distance of the pace. But he wanted to see how we'd do. Looked to me like the entire group breezed through it, which once again is a testament of our fitness level. Sisson told us he was once again was pleasantly surprised at how well we're hitting all the stuff he's throwing at us!! : )
The train had a goal of somewhere between 6:15 (fitness goal) and 6:30 (marathon extrapolation goal). Our splits were good.

It's now 3 hours later and my legs are pretty tired now. Then again, we pretty much ran 6 miles in 37:52, which is the equivalent of a 10K race in sub 39 minutes.
But!, today I get a massage and then i'm off to give two tablespoons worth of blood to start that study. Then Lunch, then work work work work more.
FYI - Between moving in to a new place, packing, moving loads, unpacking, working, running, and the fact that I don't have Internet Access at my new place until Dec4, it's pretty hard to fit in time to type up stuff. I'll do my best to keep logging my runs, but how i'm feeling leading up to the marathon, how excited I am about my teammates' results that chose to run San Antonio marathon instead of California in a few weeks, and other general stuff is going to suffer. Oh well. Priorities.

What was the recovery between repeats?
Heya...don't forget that rest is on the schedule!! Congrats on the new place. I am jealous!!
Amy, My first rest was 2.5 minutes, and the rest were just over 3 minutes. (I think Steve said 3 to 4 minutes) As the mile finish overlapped the start on the loop, we had to walk back about 100 yards back to the start, so that's how we recovered, then a quick drink of H20, and we were back out there.
