Johnny, that was a good one!

The effort was still a little hard for me, about 7:30-7:45 pace for 14 miles, but my legs are slowly remembering what it's like to run faster on flat, hard surfaces. I'll try to keep my brain entertained by incessant useless banter throughout the runs to forget i'm tired and my legs feel dead and heavy!

My friend "sportscenter" said it best on his return to blogging today. (BTW, I hope he's back for good):

"Today's 16 miler was the first run since we got home that felt good. Is it coincidence that much of the BSS gang was back for the first time since Boston? Maybe, maybe not"

If you replace the 16 with a 14, that's pretty much how I felt too. Ken, Kristen, and Jason were missing, but otherwise, there was a nice clump of about 10 of us. Certainly felt like the days of yesteryear when I was infatuated with training towards a sub 3 marathon. Hopefully that fire returns on January 11th.

I'm not going to worry about it until then, and just make sure I run enough roads to not grow entirely too fat and slow where I reach the point of no return.

Who the heck's Johnny?

I certainly hope the sub 3 hr fire returns, for your sake. It would be a shame for you and Damon to get dusted by me If ya'll run Boston.

Easy there, young grasshoppah. As far as I know, you need to qualify first... THEN, you can start talking smack.
And don't talk smack if your qualifying time isn't even close to my PR. PUNK
