I ran 27.5 miles last week.
Today is march 15th, the middle of the month and I sit at 58 miles. That's less than what I usually run in 1 week. My goal now is to get to 100 miles for the month, and continue hard Aqua Running to simulate speed.
In the last 22 days, I've run 8 times.
Four of those eight times are under 4 miles: 1.1, 1.5, 1.5, 4 (if you can even call this running?)
The other four : 24, 18, 8, 7
I've also AquaRun 9 times in 7 days. (2, two-a-days)
I should be close to 1,000 miles for the year by now, but I sit at 491.
Being injured sucks, but it could be much much worse so I count my blessings instead.
The good thing is, once Boston is over, i can leave the devil that is known as Asphalt for a while and go make up for lost miles on the trail with my friends running Leadville100.
Am I running Leadville? Hell no. Not a chance.
But I sure am up for some 4 to 6 hour runs where I'll push their pace till they want to push me off a cliff!

that sounds awesome Mike, I too am excited to go back to the trails. It will be good... I miss the 5+ hr runs...
Just bring me a full case to the Grand Canyon...
Brownie, Bet you feel like a big man all healthy and running and building up a giant 500 mile lead. Well, all i can say is Karma can be a bitch, and as much as I don't wish an injury upon anyone, I will wait till the end of the year before I admit defeat to you for the second year in a row.
Boy will this be a braggable win for you too!
; )
