I met Nedra for our scheduled 60min run this morning at 5:30am.
She coaches at 7am (Motive 1/2 Marathon group), so she has to be done by 6:30ish.
It was muggy out, and apparently the nats flew on her side of the trail, as I didn't ingest a single one, and she ate (and coughed) her way through a dozen nat clouds.
We decided on the Capital Loop. It's cool running on Congress Avenue when there's no traffic and you can see the capital lit up. The run was about 6.5 miles.
Karma came along and did great. He led about three-quarters of the way, happily waving his tail, then settled back to run next to us for the last couple of miles.
He wasn't quite sure what to make of our sprints. We had a Fart Lek (Swedish for Speed play) run on the schedule, so the all out gallops on his part were probably quite confusing.
On a side note:
I finally figured out how to use effectively use GMAP Pedometer, and I can't get enough of it. I've mapped out tons past and potential future runs. Once you've mapped on out, like the Capital Loop above, you can bookmark it and have it for future use. It even works for most International cities. I highly recommend it if you're a runner, cyclist, or just bored and want to see how long your daily commute is. ( I also recommend the "Usage Instructions" on the bottom left. Don't be like me and fail at umpteen attempts trying to figure it out, when the instructions take 20 seconds to read!)
After about 3 hours on this computer, I think it's time for a well deserved nap... afterall, they're healthy, and I'm one of the best at them.

took you that long to catch on to gmap pedometer? dude, like, uh, not that hard! i haven't used it in a while, but might tomorrow for a morning run here in Clear Lake City, aka the most uninspiring place to run. you would think they would build a trail around the lake, but the Houstonites ate all the decomposed granite.

OMG - I love Gmap Pedometer and have been using it for months now. I actually find it kind of addictive. I even use it to map out the distances of my kayak routes. Somebody help me!
And nothing beats a good nap. As a matter of fact, maybe I'd better take one right about now...(big yawn) (stretch).
