Olympics Update

The new USA track and Field Uniforms are 19% faster. Read about them here. (looks like they're all part of American Gladiators if you ask me.)

I sure hope these athletes are getting paid well by Nike. Those are the ugliest outfits ever. I can see how maybe the shorts and top part might be more streamline but what about the arm warmers and socks...holding flab in?? Not on those athletes! I would think they would need a hood too to restrain wind trapping hair. Nike has also thoughtfully designed some equestrian boots that are incredibly ugly and from what I can see can, in no way, make the horse jump higher or piaffe better - especially since the horse isn't wearing them. Nike sponsored equestrian athletes will be wearing them.

I would bet $1M that they won't end up wearing the arm warmers or compression socks at the actual games. Those are ridiculous.

Kirsten, your comment is useless without a link to these boots!

Shorey, I'd almost take that bet because in 2004, many sprinters wore the full suit thing that even had a hood built in to it, so if they can shave 0.02 in 100m, wearing socks and arm sleeves, that's the difference between Gold and NOTHING.
But I don't have 1 million dollars, so I'll have to just say, I'll take it as a friendly bet that many will wear both socks and arm thingies.
