My legs were quite tired from yesterday's hard push through the hills of Rollingwood, as were Ken's. We met up off 38th and Shoal Creek and did a route no one has ever done before. I call it the "The Ziggy 10" The pace was very kind to our legs, keeping it at an 8:10-8:15.
We have traditions on our runs, which actually are more like daily rituals as our runs happen 6 or 7 days a week. One of them is Ken saying the followin as the sun rises...
"Another sunrise from the road, boys and girls!"It's hard to explain why I get out there and run every morning, especially a morning like today.
I easily could have skipped today due to tired legs, but when we were done with our run, I got to enjoy the sunrise. Because of winter sunrise hours, and the fact that I got home earlier than usual, i was able to snap some pictures.

The thought of a sunrise is never what gets you out of bed, but getting to enjoy sunrises like this one while running the roads of Austin sure make it all worth while.

Awesome pics Mike. Sometimes it really is worth it to get up early.
This is what I envision as the background when BFDee is rub-a-dub-dubbing on your back!!! I hear angels singing too!!!
It was an incredible one yesterday!
I might try to paint one of those...and hey, you never even acknowledged the squirrel (or shall I say "tree rat" I sent you)
